Well, the holiday is finally here.

I have to say that since work is now off the table, I'm feeling a lot less stressed. Yes, I still have a lot to do but now there seems to be time to do it. I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

I want to sincerely wish you the best Christmas tomorrow. Lots of family time and love and eggnog and happy. Keep in mind those who can't be with the ones they love tomorrow for whatever reason and enjoy everything about the next few days. See you Monday, and Merry Christmas!

This was the way Christmas went in 2007...

yeah. i'm kind a reg'lar reader here until i got behind on account of a thing that got me landed on a locked ward and i'm home now on a temporary basis and i'll be with my family and my church this weekend but i'm thinking of my friends back at ripley, the finest flophouse $25 a night will buy you and for some reason or another they can't go home for christmas because there's no home to go to or the home they have is too screwed up and they're really trying to quit heroin and shouldn't go back to the home where they started it in the first place and bless their hearts, they're kind of putting together plans for the weekend that involve going to the marathon AA/NA meetings in the town where the hospital is but -get this!- they're all signing up to SERVE christmas dinner to people less fortunate who don't have anywhere to go because apparently if you have a $25 flophouse and some temporary friends and a slate of AA meetings to go to, you count yourself lucky, call yourself fortunate and you get off your ass and volunteer.

junkies. God bless 'em. and God bless you, too. think about it next time you see one of 'em trying to dry out or looking to get into a rehab. i've seen some turrible things, and some amazing things. people in hard, hard places sucking it up and learning to be resourceful and banding together to make blessings and cheer where there wasn't much of anything. so merry christmas. yeah.

sunday afternoon i'm heading back to ripley. and i'm going to be bringing treats. those people know how to SHARE.

Flask, I've been following the last few posts Of your blog with great interest. In fact I've been on the edge of my seat waitin for the next installment. I know it's your life but you tell the story in such a compelling way, I can't wait to see what happens next. I'm relieved to know that you've come out of it and have stopped crying quite so much.

Especially to you I wish you peace for the holiday And I'm thinking of you always. You are an inspiration.
